The NG Committee is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations to the 2010 Dr. Cleofe M. Bacuñgan Natatanging Guro (NG) Awards. The award aims to recognize notable and outstanding accomplishments of a teacher in the past two years.
The first NG Awards was held last year for the PSHS Diliman campus. This year onwards, the NG Committee intends to open this prestigious award to all qualified teachers in all PSHS campuses and will be held every 3 years.
Please find the attached mechanics. The deadline for nominations is on June 15, 2010.
We enjoin you all to participate in a cooperative effort to give due recognition to our “Natatanging Guros”!

The Dr. Cleofe M. Bacuñgan Natatanging Guro (NG) Award will be given to an outstanding teacher each from the following three clusters: Mathematics and Computer Science Natural Sciences Humanities and Social Sciences Each awardee shall receive a cash award and a plaque. The awards will be presented in a special convocation during the Foundation Week, 1st week of Sept, 2010. Qualifications for Nominees- Must currently be a full-time and regular employee of the PSHS faculty for at least two years;
- Must have been in active service in the PSHS for the preceding two academic years;
- Must have taught at least (2) sections for the past academic year;
- Must not been found guilty of any administrative or disciplinary charge, must not have any pending administrative of disciplinary charge and must not have any pending criminal case.
- A nomination letter signed by the nominator and addressed to the NG Selection Committee through its Chair;
- The curriculum vitae of the nominee not exceeding four (4) pages;
- A summary of the nominee’s accomplishments categorized by selection criteria, and
- Supporting documents for the accomplishments.
- Teaching effectiveness;
- Research and/or creative work;
- Academic background and professional development;
- Other accomplishments and achievements including extension work.
